Shen Maosheng graduated from Jilin University in 1989. Since then he has been working at the Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum. He has taken part in important archaeological work in the Mausoleum. He made a great contribution for Pit No.2, first stage excavation, which won the first prize in the field of archaeology awarded by the state administration of cultural heritage. In 1996-1998, he attended the Sino-Italian conservation and restoration of cultural relics protection training course and received the certificate of restorer. At the same time, obtained an associate’s degree in English.
He became responsible for the archaeological department in 2010. As leader of the No. 1 pit, he and his team won the Spanish “The Prince of Asturias Award in Social Science” in 2010. His team was also awarded “The 6 Big Archaeological Discoveries in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences of 2013 Archaeological Forum.” After participating in GLI 2014, he applied his new skills in organizational development, and leadership and management to form a new set of practices for his team and ensure smooth implementation projects. He is now the team leader of the Pit No 1 excavation project of Qinshihuang and has made many new findings.
