Katie Ward is a recent graduate from the University of Washington Bothell campus. In pursuing their BA, Katie double-majored in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies & American Ethnic Studies with a minor in Diversity Studies. Starting Fall 2022, Katie will be continuing with their academic path at Claremont Graduate University and pursuing an MA in Applied Gender Studies, and an MA in Cultural Studies. Katie is most interested in taking transdisciplinary approaches to research and decolonizing educational spaces. Their interest in museums was sparked after an in-depth guided tour at The Burke Museum in Seattle Washington, while participating in a summer research-intensive with the theme: Monumental Reckoning: Unsettling Histories, Reimagining Futures, and seeing the work that institutions can do with decolonization.

Katie joined MLI in Summer 2022 as a Program Assistant working to support POLARIS: The Museum Mentor Network.
